Army Soldier Tradesman Eligibility Criteria
Army Soldier bharti is broad based. Every male citizen, irrespective of caste, class, religion and domicile, is eligible for bharti in the Army, provided he meets the laid down age, educational, physical and medical standards.
Recruitment in the Army is carried out through out the year through an open rally system. The recruitment details are published here, one month prior to the conduct of the rally by the concerned Zonal Recruiting Offices. Candidates are advised to check the complete list before applying.
Age: 17 ½ – 23 Yrs.
Chest: Minimum 77 cm & 5 cm expansion
Height: 170 cm
Education Qualification: 10th/ITI (except Mess Keeper and House Keeper-who may be 8th pass).
Documents Required: Education Certificate, Domicile Certificate, Caste Certificate, Character Certificate, Ration Card, Voter ID
1600 Meters Running
Candidates need to complete 1600 meters running in given time and will be awarded marks as below:
Ist Group : 60 Marks
IInd Group : 48 Marks
6-10 Pull Ups
10 and above Pull Ups : 40 Marks.
9 Pull Ups: 33 Marks
8 Pull Ups: 27 Marks
7 Pull Ups: 21 Marks
6 Pull Ups: 16 Marks

Physical Fitness Test – ARMY Soldier Tradesman Duty
The PET provides a measure of upper and lower body muscular endurance. It is a performance test that indicates a Soldier’s ability to perform physically and handle his or her own body weight. PFT standards are adjusted for age and physiological differences between the genders.
Here are some general pieces of advice for those who are working to improve their over-all physical fitness for Army GD Bharti:
Get plenty of rest (6-8 hours of sleep/night)
Eat a well-balanced diet (nutrition plays a HUGE role)
Warm-up, workout, cool down and stretch
Incorporate stretching into your workouts
Stay hydrated (8-10 glasses of water/day)
Make a plan for yourself
A. Start slow and at a comfortable pace
B. Progressively work your way up
C. Consider ladder or circuit workouts
D. Gradually increase number of repetitions, weight / resistance of gear and run speed
Medical Test Army Soldier Tradesman
To be deemed “Medically Fit”, a candidate must be in good physical and mental health and free from any disease/syndrome/disability likely to interfere with the efficient performance of military duties in any terrain, climate, season incl sea and air, in remote areas, in austere conditions with no medical aid. Candidate also should be free of medical conditions which require frequent visit to medical facilities and use of any aid / drugs.
A candidate should have robust physique and good mental health.
Chest should be well developed having minimum 5 cm expansion.
Should have normal hearing with each ear and good binocular vision in both eyes. He should be able to read 6/6 in distant vision chart with each eye. Colour vision should be CP.
Able to recognize white, signal red and signal green colours correctly as shown by Martin’s Lantern at 1.5 mtrs
Should have sufficient number of natural healthy gum and teeth i.e. minimum 14 dental points.
HIV Screening during recruitment stage is being considered keeping in mind the angles of human rights & legal aspects.
Army Soldier Tradesman Syllabus:
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE - 30 Marks
Abbreviations – National and International.
Sports – National and International.
Awards & Prizes -National awards, Gallantry awards, Nobel Prizes.
History – Important dates & battles in Indian and World, History and land marks of Indian History, national movement.
Geography – Solar System Space exploration, The earth principal peaks, Deserts, Rivers, Lakes and famous waterfalls, Geographical Tallest, Biggest and Longest etc.
Terminology – Geographical terms, Economic terms, Astronomical terms, Legal terms and Misc terms.
GENERAL SCIENCE - 30 Marks
Human Body – Food and nutrition, diseases and prevention, vitamins and their uses.
Question of General Science consisting of topic related to Physics, Chemistry and Biology, based on fundamentals and day to day activities.
- Medical Terms.
- Scientific Terms.
- Scientific and Research Institutes in India.
IO/Numeral Ability – The questions will be based on the ability of the candidates of age group ranging between 16 & 20 years
MATHEMATICS - 30 Marks
Arithmetic – Consisting of numbers, HCF, LCM, Decimal fraction, square root, percentage, Average, Ratio and proportion, partnership, profit & loss, unitary method, time work and distance, simple interest.
Algebra – Basic operations and factorization, HCF and LCM, quadratic equations.
Geometry – Lines and angles, triangles quadrilaterals, parallelograms and circles Mensuration Area and perimeters of Squares, rectangles parallelograms and circles, volume and surface area of cube, cuboids, cone, cylinders and sphere.
Note : The above syllabus is not a comprehensive list of topics pertaining to the subject. At times questions may be asked other than the above topics but definitely within the syllabus of CBSE.
